Capital Area Recycling & Trash (CART) provides convenient collection of recycling, trash, and yard waste for the residents of the City of Lansing. CART also offers a variety of education and outreach opportunities, special events and other community activities.
The mission of CART is to provide an efficient recycling, trash and yard waste, collection system, which encourages environmentally-responsible behavior. This behavior and sustainable practices contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment, which ultimately enhances the quality of life for those who live and work in the City of Lansing.

Lansing Living's Greensheet
Lansing Living is a City of Lansing publication that is released three times a year. Each issue is a combination of the Lansing Parks and Recreation Activities Guide, the Capital Area Recycling and Trash (CART) Greensheet, and other important information and event details.
Report Missed Service
If recycling, trash, or yard waste is missed during collection, please contact CART by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or OMAdmin@lansingmi.gov or by phone at 517-483-4400. Reports must be made within 24 hours of missed service for a truck to be sent back to collect materials. All other reports made on social media such as Facebook or Twitter will not be considered valid.
